The Banco Provincia in Argentina continues to expand its Cuenta DNI mobile app, introducing a new feature that enables fast, secure, and contactless payments with a bank card directly from a smartphone.
Initially, this feature is available for VISA credit and debit cards issued by Banco Provincia and functions on devices with the Android operating system. The new option is visible on the app's main screen but requires activation to be used. Furthermore, it provides access to new discounts and special offers from VISA in stores, transportation, and other sectors, offering users more and better services.
Thanks to NFC technology, the smartphone becomes a payment method, eliminating the need for cash, a physical card, or an ID. Once the feature is activated, payments can be made very simply. To do this, users must press the "Pay with NFC" button on the app's main screen, bring their phone close to the terminal at a store or service, and complete the transaction with a pre-selected card. If a user is activating this for the first time, they will need to set Cuenta DNI as their default payment application.
One of the main benefits of the new feature is access to a significant discount on public transportation. When paying for a bus or subway fare with a VISA debit card through the Cuenta DNI app, users receive a 100% reimbursement for the ticket value. The maximum monthly reimbursement is 10,000 Argentine pesos. The refund is automatically credited to the user's account within 20-30 business days after the payment. The transaction is protected by biometric validation, ensuring the security of personal data.
